How to say “let’s” in Japanese

The “let’s” form can be expressed using the verb stem plus the suffix 〜ましょう (mashou).

Here are some examples:
1. 行きましょう (ikimashou) – Let’s go

2. 食べましょう (tabemashou) – Let’s eat

3. 勉強しましょう (benkyou shimashou) – Let’s study

To form “let’s” with other verbs, you generally take the verb’s stem and add 〜ましょう.

For example:
For 見る (miru – to see), it becomes 見ましょう (mimashou) – Let’s see.

For 遊ぶ (asobu – to play), it becomes 遊びましょう (asobimashou) – Let’s play.
