1. わたしは、日本語を話すことはともかく、書く事は苦手だ。
watashi wa, nihongo o hanasu koto wa tomokaku, kaku koto wa nigate da.
I can’t even write Japanese, let alone speak it.
2. 挨拶はともかくとして、さっそく会議の本題に入りましょう。
aisatsu wa tomokaku toshite, sassoku kaigi no hondai ni hairimashou.
Never mind the greetings, let’s go straight to the meeting’s main subject.
3. あの女優は、顔はともかくとして演技がすばらしい。
ano joyuu wa, kao wa tomokaku toshite engi ga subarashii.
Whether she’s good looking or not, she’s a great actress.
4. 奥さんの料理は見た目はともかく味は美味しい。
okusan no ryouri wa mitame wa tomokaku aji wa oishii.
Regardless of weather it looks good or not, my wife’s cooking tastes pretty good.
